FUN & NATURAL COUPLE’S LOVESHOOT IN TORONTO, CANADA
Some people just have a special something.
A special something that attracts people.
An attraction that gets people returning for more and more.
Meet Abby & Bahi.
They travel to fabulous destinations.
They throw fabulous house parties.
If anyone knows them, they each have more friends than most people that you know.
Together, they are probably one of the most popular (and coolest) couples in Toronto.
The thing is, regardless of their fun-filled-socials and globetrotting lifestyle, I think what draws people to them isn’t really the fabulous external picture. If you spend even just a small amount of time with them, it’s their hearts and their kindness that are so attractive and heart-warming. They are naturally fun and deeply genuine. There isn’t anything pretentious or snobbish about how they behave or treat you or speak of others. Hand to heart, one of the kindest, most authentic and down-to-earth couples you will ever meet.
I met them only once before. It was years and years ago when these two were only friends and not even dating! Now they are married, with children!
We met years ago during the brief time period I was living in Toronto, in between my life in the USA and the UK. I randomly met them both one evening, through a mutual friend of ours. From that one single short instance, they opened their homes and friendship circles to me, inviting me to all their fabulous events, though I could never attend, as by that time, I had already moved overseas.
And here we are, years and years later, reunited for a 2nd time. I couldn’t help but smile at that thought.
I love reunions. Big or small.
Connection is beautiful, but what’s more remarkable is the reconnection.
You see the evolution of the other person; who they’ve become, how their personalities have been shaped and evolved by the changes and events that have happened in their lives over time. Personally, I find this process absolutely fascinating.
I asked them what their life was like, after being married. And now, what marriage was like, after having children.
Their answer pleased me immensely.
(I am paraphrasing here, from memory).
“Our lifestyle hasn’t really changed. We’re more busy, but we take turns so that the other person can continue enjoying a life of their own, to be the person that they were/are. It’s the same life and lifestyle as before, just with more people involved.”
Inspiring answer! And when they talked about their life, you saw it, and you just knew it wasn’t just talk; they were living by example.
This answer made me smile. This couple made me smile. I was walking around with them during their photoshoot smiling the whole time and thinking I am with such a cool couple, venturing through some of the coolest little districts in Toronto.
They chose The Distillery District and Riverdale Park for their photoshoot as these are some of their favourite locations in the city.
And I am so thrilled they did!
Both of these areas were brand new for me, so it became a mini adventure getting to know them both better, and getting to explore these locations for the first time.
At the Distillery District, I was allured by the quaint setting and relaxed vibe. But it was the Victorian architecture with the numerous cafes, shops, and restaurants inside heritage brick buildings tucked away along the cobbled stone streets that somehow reminded me of Europe.
At Riverdale Park, it was the warm soft glowing pastel sunset over the city skyline with the iconic C.N.Tower in the background that was such a stunning sight! Such a romantic way to wrap up their loveshoot!
After the photoshoot, they said something that I thought was brilliant:
“Thank you for completing our photography “portfolio”. Now we have everything: Art, Beach, History & Nature.”
They had their epic wedding at the AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario), then a honeymoon shoot on the beach in Nigel, Jamaica, and now this couple shoot in their hometown, Toronto, which completes their “collection”; their places of significance; each place reflecting significant meaning to the both of them: Artistic Wedding, Destination Beach, Local History & Nature.”
What a clever idea! A compilation of special places! A collection of photoshoots at favourite meaningful destinations. How brilliant an idea is that?
That just goes to show how much these two lovebirds cherish places, experiences, and memories. (And how well they travel!) (They are currently celebrating their Anniversary in Vegas!)
Before we parted, they smiled and hugged me and said, “Thank you! This was such a fun shoot!”
I smiled, feeling so pleased, as this is precisely how I feel about them …
Everything about this couple and this today and this shoot was a match made in heaven!
